Hello ESUS Community Members,

Wow can’t believe World Workplace 2023 in Denver has come and gone. I thought it was a great conference. The sessions were so informative that my brain is still on overload from everything we learned. I especially liked this year’s keynote speakers Radhika Dirks, CEO and co-founder at XLabs, and Erin Brockovich, who spoke on the Power of One and our plenary speaker Dr. George Westerman who examined digital technologies. Additionally, I hope you were able to attend some of the sessions where some of our own ESUS Members were the speakers: Lisa Whited,, Doug Pilgrim, Davies Office, Lorri Rowlandson, BGIS,  Derek Bacigal, Hale Koa Hotel, Gary Miciunas, Cuningham Group Architecture, Inc. and yours truly.

It was especially good to see all the ESUS Members in attendance at this year’s WWP , we were 37 strong and I’m so glad I got to meet so many of you at the Annual ESUS Community Meeting on Wednesday morning and throughout the conference .For those of you who attended the Breakfast meeting, I especially want to thank Sheila Sheridan, IFMA Fellow, RCFM and Past Chair for leading the lively discussion, we learned  a lot about our fellow members and their current projects and interests. Sheila gave everyone in attendance a homework assignment:

1. Tell us about you.
2. Share with us where you work and brief description of responsibilities.
3. Provide us, if you wish, what you are working on concerning sustainability and let us know if we can share your profiles with the Community.

Whether you attended or not, we invite you to send your answers to

ESUS will use your responses to create future programs and articles for our newsletter. Also let us know if you interested in speaking at an ESUS webinar. If so, what is your area of expertise. ESUS is your community, and we want to ensure that you get the most out of your ESUS membership.

While we were at WWP 2023, ESUS has a contest to re-name our community, we received a number of great suggestions. The new name will be announced shortly, so stay tuned. The winning entry will receive a free registration for Facility Fusion 2024 in Boston. MA, May 5-7, 2024.

At WWP 2023 ESUS released our 2023 Updated Adapting to Climate Change for Facility Professionals, which is a free download from the IFMA Knowledge Library Free copies of Climate Change Fundamentals for Facility Professionals and the original Adapting to Climate Change for Facility Professionals, are also available from the IFMA Knowledge Library.

The ESUS Board is hard at work planning for fantastic activities in 2024. In efforts to meet the Community’s growing needs, we are 310 strong, we have added a new member to the ESUS Board of Directors, as of July 2023.
